10th october 2010 – sunday morning, we took a 10-minute walk from tiong bahru, where i would be staying for a week, to havelock road food centre for breakfast.
i can’t help but notice that there were a lot of elderly singaporeans; either alone, with their spouse or their maid. i wonder do they feel lonely.
i had the good old prawn mee.
after breakfast, we walked around the food centre. at one corner, there was a gathering of elderly men with their caged birds hanging overhead. they listened to the chirping of the birds while chit-chatting, sipping coffee or having a smoke.
a closer look at one of the birds in the cage.
later in the evening, we were asked to visit aunty kath, who was in transit from australia back to kota kinabalu. after meeting her at the ibis hotel @bugis, we enjoyed the local fanfare at the nearby hawker centre near albert street. unfortunately, i did not have my camera with me. you should have seen the amount of food ordered! after stuffing ourselves, we sent aunty kath back to her hotel and made our way back home.
to be continued…
